The Kalmiopsis Wilderness is a 179,850 acre wilderness located in Southwest Oregon. It is the home of biological diversity, rugged terrain, and incomparable wild rivers. It was established in 1964 as part of the Wilderness Act and expanded in 1978 with the American Endangered Wilderness Act.
